Sarus is the first volunteer exchange program for Cambodian and Vietnamese university students. Students from the two countries spend one month together completing service projects in Kampong Speu, Cambodia and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. KYSD supports the Cambodia half of the program in coordination with our Kampong Speu partner, Orphans Care and Training Center (OCTO). Meanwhile, I also see a good sight in the increasing population because there will be more youth to participant in world development and drive the world in the future.</span><br class="style3" /><br class="style3" /> <span class="style3">It changes the way I think of the world population. With the world of 7 billion, I come to know that the population of the world is increasing at the very fast pace which is very concerning not only human, but also to the planet on which we are living.</span><br class="style3" /><br class="style3" /> <span class="style3">I think that with the population of 7 billion, I know I will need to make a specific plan for my own future. While the number of the population is increasing rapidly, it will be more challenging in the future; yet, it is also good to have many people in the world because we can share our joy and experience with others. I realize that we need to manage our lives and our future in a more careful way.</span></div> <h2 style="text-align:left">Story 2:</h2> <h3>Lim Chanphirun<br />Department of English, Institute of Foreign Languages, Royal University of Phnom Penh</h3> <div><span class="style2">The World of 7 billion is very informative in term of disseminating the information to the youth and public as a whole to let them know about the concept of this action. Via this campaign, people would realize that the population on the world has been increasing and are about to reach the number of 7 billion. Plus, people, especially youth, would know more about the reproductive health as the slogan of it was also included in the campaign.</span><br class="style2" /><br class="style2" /> <span class="style2">It is surely true that the campaign offers me tremendous knowledge of the world. I have never known before that the number of people in the world is in such a huge number. More importantly, this experience enables me to socialize with other youth so as to equip me with better understanding of youth problem and thought in the society.</span><br class="style2" /><br class="style2" /> <span class="style2">To live in the world of 7 billion, I think I have to understand about global issues. As I believe, I should be aware of the increasing rate of the population, the conflict of multi-religion, and the new kind of diseases infecting the human being to avoid myself from those evil problems. I, myself, have to have the family plan to better live in a better condition. Besides, I have to have cross cultural understanding to avoid the conflict with other culture or religion.</span></div> <h2 style="text-align:left">Story 3:</h2> <h3>Sok Eng<br />Department of Media and Communication, Royal University of Phnom Penh</h3> <div><span class="style1">I think 7 billion people is a huge number of population, so there will be a lot of challenges because different people have different thought, and no one can control over other thoughts and actions, so it may come out to be a mess. However, we still have many opportunities in this globalized world. People can communicate well to each other from every corner of the world very quickly because of the advance technology like the Internet. There will be a lot of competitive work needed to do for a better world for everyone especially the youths, so this is a good chance for them including me to show our ability to tackle those issues such as illiteracy, extreme poverty and reproduction security.</span><br class="style1" /> <br class="style1" /> <span class="style1">This campaign was surely a big alert to raise the awareness of the world population. I did not know what the world population nowadays is and have never thought how to prepare myself with this crowded world until the launch of this campaign. It helps me to realize the problems that may be caused by this huge number of people, so I will prepare myself better in advance to fight against the issues.</span><br class="style1" /><br class="style1" /> <span class="style1">I would try to master as much information as I can because with the information I can prepare things in advance like building up plans for my next move in order to get a satisfied out come. Second, I would use my knowledge I learnt from school to educate people about the reproduction security and child birth control.
