Roles and efforts of youth and young people in Cambodia are critical to enhancing Cambodia's society. KYSD works to promote ways to engage them in becoming more actively involved in making positive contributions to their communities.

Today’s National Dialogue on the Rio+20 preparations is an excellent opportunity to raise public awareness and mobilize public support, as well as build up a high momentum for the sustainable development of Cambodia. The Royal Government is carrying out very comprehensive policy and strategies, namely Pro-Poor, Pro-Growth, Pro-Green Growth, Pro-Green Jobs for the Youth, Pro-Environmental Sustainability and Pro-Social Safety Net Action, in particularly safe village and communes at the national and sub-national administrations, H.E Dr. Mok Mareth, Senior Minister, Minister of Ministry of Environment said during the National Dialogue “Towards Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD)”. 2). Youth Forum Youth Performance and Camp on
“Youth Participation in Natural Resources Protection”

50 university students together with youth from the Youth Club of Khmer Youth and Social Development (KYSD) are participating in the Youth Performance and Camp on the topic of “Youth Participation for Natural Resources Protection.” The event will be celebrated in Kdol vilalge, Kraing Skea commune, Tek Phos district, Kampong Chnang from 7-12 August, 2011.

Through this event, participant will be able to build relationship among youth themselves and gain knowledge on how to protect natural resource via joining the wide range of activities in the 6-day program.

The Youth Performance and Camp will be celebrated as one program of Youth Forum resulting from the organization the Khmer Youth for Social Development (KYSD) in cooperation with Wild Life Alliance, community and local authorities under the kind sponsorship of Forum Syd.

The Youth Performance and Camp aim to promote youth participation in protecting natural resource in communities and to maximize the youth knowledge on rights to protect those resources.
