Roles and efforts of youth and young people in Cambodia are critical to enhancing Cambodia's society. KYSD works to promote ways to engage them in becoming more actively involved in making positive contributions to their communities.

The Royal Government is carrying out very comprehensive policy and strategies, namely Pro-Poor, Pro-Growth, Pro-Green Growth, Pro-Green Jobs for the Youth, Pro-Environmental Sustainability and Pro-Social Safety Net Action, in particularly safe village and communes at the national and sub-national administrations, H.E Dr. Mok Mareth, Senior Minister, Minister of Ministry of Environment said during the National Dialogue “Towards Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD)”. 2). International Youth Day 2011, Youth Forum on
“Young People Forging the Future-Realizing Their Sexual and Reproductive Health”

200 students and indigenous youth are participating in the Youth Forum on “Young People Forging the Future-Realizing Their Sexual and Reproductive Health” to celebrate the International Youth Day on August 12, 2011, at 8am, at Rattanakiri.

Following the invitation of esteemed guest speakers including the Khmer Youth for Social Development, the United Nations Population Fund, provincial officials, and artist, participant will get an exclusive view of the youth’s activities and viewpoints.

Youth Forum is a campaign of the 7 Billion Actions which is organized by the Khmer Youth for Social Development (KYSD) in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund and the Cambodian Center for Independent Media to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights among young people living in indigenous areas, to encourage people to take action as the world reaches the number of population of 7 million and to celebrate the International Youth Day 2011.
