Roles and efforts of youth and young people in Cambodia are critical to enhancing Cambodia's society. KYSD works to promote ways to engage them in becoming more actively involved in making positive contributions to their communities.

KYSD Celebrated the Award Handing Ceremony for the Winner
of the Logo Designing Contest

On Sunday 31st July, 2011, at 4pm, the Khmer Youth and Social Development Organization (KYSD) celebrated the award handing ceremony for the winner of the KYSD logo designing contest at KYSD office. Participating in this event, there are university students, youth, contesters, KYSD staffs and advisor.

Among the 13 logos participating in the contest, the first award was given to Mr. Tith Chandara, currently an assistant lecturer at Department of Media and Communication (DMC) and the second award was handed to Mr. Tha Piseth, recently graduated student from DMC.

Discussing in this occasion, Mr. Chhoun Borith, the Executive Director of KYSD, talked as an open remark to the youth and other participant about the past history of the KYSD creation, the hardship that KYSD has encountered, and the recent activities and programs that KYSD has been doing to promote the youth to get involve in the society.

Following Mr. Borith, Mr. Ok Sereisopheak, advisor to the KYSD, also gave a brief talk about the potential and weakness of the youth in social development. “Youth nowadays are both lucky and unlucky,” he said, “due to the accessibilities of the Internet, youth nowadays can expand their knowledge though this means regardless of frontier, but sadly some youth has taken this means in useless manners.” He also added that people participation in volunteering works is extremely essential for their future career since these works equip them with experiences in communities and society as a whole

Afterwards of Mr. OK Sereisopheak’s valuable speech, Mr. Dara the award winner also explained the meaning of the new KYSD logo delightedly.

The logo of Mr. Dara was selected by the judging committee of KYSD to be the newly principal logo of the KYSD, and this newly designed logo represents the mission and vision of KYSD.
